What We Do

Entry Requirements

Qualifications

An undergraduate degree awarded by a higher education provider in England or Wales, or a recognised equivalent qualification.

A standard equivalent to grade C/4, or above, in the GCSE examinations in English and mathematics.

If you intend to train to teach pupils aged 3 – 11 (early years and primary), you must also have achieved a standard equivalent to a grade C/4, or above, in a GCSE science subject examination.

You’ll also need to demonstrate that you have appropriate professional skills in numeracy and literacy before you begin your teacher training.

Personal qualities

We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated learners who will inspire our children for the future.

You will need to be motivated, committed, organised, creative and above all have a good sense of fun and humour!

Experience with children is essential and this can be arranged through the Alliance once you have shown commitment to our training programme.

Other requirements

Your role will be subject to:

  • Medical Fitness
  • Declaration of Criminal Convictions
  • Disclosure and Barring Service check

We are looking for trainees who have the required skills and attributes to become outstanding teachers. You will:

  • Have an energy, passion and enthusiasm for working with children
  • Have high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge both yourself and the pupils in your care
  • Care for your children and be passionate about enabling the best outcomes for them
  • Be enthusiastic about your learning, developing your knowledge and skills and the knowledge and skills of others
  • Be able to adapt and be flexible, responding to the needs of your school experience and pupils
  • Be an excellent team member and communicator.
