Examples of Outreach work undertaken and Impact
Kate introduced Maths No Problem across the school in September 2015 and trained staff to deliver this in year groups. She has carefully monitored this implementation, focusing on key areas to ensure a smooth transition into this new style of teaching and learning. She has kept staff up to date with mastery materials to support teaching as well as arranging training to ensure staff could confidently deliver the new scheme of work to ensure mastery for all learners.
After coaching staff across the age range in First Quality Teaching in maths, she has recently focused on developing reasoning and the use of maths journals across the school. This follows a focus in teaching for mastery in the previous academic year which has resulted in improved results at the end of Key Stage 2.
She has also worked in a number of schools to support staff in Quality First Teaching in maths. Coaching the maths subject leader, which included joint lesson observations, book scrutinies and data analysis, led to strengthened subject leadership which thus improved the quality of teaching and learning.
