What We Do
Katrina has been a teacher for fourteen years. In that time, she has taught in three schools and has worked in; Foundation Stage, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two. She worked for nine years in an area of deprivation in Redcar and Cleveland, where she led the development of the Foundation Stage.
More recently, she has been working in a year 5/6 class and has been working with the local authority on the development of delivering the Maths curriculum across mixed age classes. Currently, she is on secondment offering school to school support.

Examples of Outreach work undertaken and Impact
She has worked closely with schools to implement new planning and assessment for the teaching of the maths curriculum across mixed age classes, alongside the Maths LEA team. Specifically focusing on the use of manipulatives and problem solving, she has supported schools in raising maths outcomes across settings.
Developing the use of Numicon, Dienes and Cuisennaire, she has been working with schools to develop the use of manipulatives to support the teaching of number and problem solving. She has also worked closely with small cluster schools to look at the monitoring of maths across school and specifically the attainment of high attainers.
In her current role, she is on secondment in the teacher-in charge role. She is supporting the school with strategic planning and the improvement of attainment across school. Working closely with the LEA, acting head teacher and governors there has already been significant improvement on the outcomes for all learners.
